The massive rally planned by the Azimio la Umoja group for February 13 at Gusii Stadium has been postponed.
The planned gathering has been postponed to Friday, February 17, according to Kerosi Ondieki, chairman of the Kisii County ODM, in order to allow time for adequate planning.
Additionally, the County Chairman stated that they had asked the Azimio secretariat to assist County Governor Simba Arati in making the necessary preparations for his big entrance into the Gusii stadium.
The demonstrations came after requests for Azimio to call off their rallies from Kisii leaders who support President William Ruto on Sunday, claiming that they were not welcome in Kisii.
Now that James Ongwae and Joash Maangi, two past governors of Kisii, have referred to their comments as absurd, Kerosi has urged the community to show up in big numbers on Friday to welcome the Azimio brigade inside the famed stadium.
ODM asserts that they are still intact in the enormous Gusii region and won’t be swayed by the opinions of people vying for posts under the Kenya Kwanza Administration.
