Regarding the purported police raid at Matiang’i’s home in Karen on the evening of February 8, Matiang’i is wanted for interrogation.
Matiang’i informed the DCI through Musyoki Mogaga and Co Advocates that both he and his attorneys would be preoccupied with other affairs at the time he was required to appear. They further stated that due to the short notice of the summons, the former CS will also be taking care of his other prior commitments.
“The notice is rather brief, and our client and ourselves could not be in a position to be present without violating our past agreements,” the attorneys claimed.
After a two-week journey to the UK for personal reasons, Matiangi’ flew back into the nation on Saturday night.
Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i will on Tuesday appear at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road an hour earlier than directed according to his lawyer Danstan Omari.
On February 28, the Immigration Bureau disclosed that he had departed the country a week before his summons.
The letter states that the subject took KLM flight number KL566 out of JKIA on February 19, 2023.
